Solid, webbased academic product
Many Numworx teaching modules have been tested in scientific research projects and improved based on the results. Most Many of the modules reflect the influence of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). RME is a domain-specific instruction theory for mathematics and has much in common with constructivist didactic theories. Numworx also enables developers to apply their own didactic approach. The following scientific projects contributed to the development of Numworx.
- PROO Tool Use
- ffDWO
- DPICT
- Algebra Met Inzicht
- Open en Gepersonaliseerd Statistiekonderwijs
- FASMED
- M C Squared
High interactive and rendering quality
Numworx’s rendering and processing of mathematical notation is unique. Equally important is that students are able to use mathematical notation in their solutions. A mathematical problem may have various solutions which are all mathematically correct. Numworx recognizes this equivalence and provides meaningful feedback to students. Numworx can even recognize handwritten formulas.
Create without specific IT expertise
While much interactive teaching material is created by IT experts, Numworx Author allows for the creation of complex digital teaching material without specific IT expertise. The extensive content library offers an excellent foundation on which to develop lessons and tests.
The management of learning
Work and results are stored in a database on the Numworx server, available for teachers to examine and analyze. For students, Numworx LMS is a personal online interactive course book, for teachers Numworx LMS provides a way to organize their course and to keep tabs on the progress and problems of their students.
